Don't you think having an offense that puts your D on the field for 40 minutes constitutes a problem?

This is the root of the problem with spread offense/fast pace teams. They thrive in back and forth, high-scoring games when their offense can build momentum. But encounter an offense who controls the clock, wears the defense down over the course of 4 quarters, not allowing the offense to get into a groove, and the spread offense/defense is negated. I think this is why you haven't seen A&M have much success against the Bama's and LSUs's of the conference. I'm not sure any defensive coordinator could change that. It's a difference in total team philosophies.
