I'm a very nostalgic person and this game is worth getting nostalgic over. This was the last Alabama-Auburn game to be played at Legion Field.

Auburn had some issues with roster turnovers. Players either got kicked off the team, quit, or left for the NFL. Takeo Spikes left early for sure. Terry Bowden had already had his swan song.
Mike Dubose was an idiot too and he didn't have a QB who really knew what was going on yet.
But Zow played a lot better in '99. I think.

Yeah. Alabama trimmed it to 17-14 at the half. The only reason Alabama beat Auburn in 98' or 99' was because of Shaun Alexander. He may have scored every Bama touchdown both years. Hell, he was the only reason Alabama won most of their games.

1998 lsu /bama game. lsu flopped that year after top ten preseason rankings, and that was yet another game lsu threw away to bama in the forth quarter.

Not that it will ever happen, but I sometimes dream of a new stadium in Birmingham and Alabama and Auburn playing there just one year for old times sake.
