"They asked me what my goals were for college and I told how much I want to play and get developed and become a better linebacker," Davis said. "I feel like I can compete and play as a freshman. They said at Auburn I can do that so I'm really excited for this visit."

What does Auburn have to do to give itself a bump?

"They really don't have to do that much for me," Davis said. "I've seen a lot of it. I just want to have a good visit and see how everything goes and see if I get a different impression about the university.

"Every time I go down there I see something different that I love. I can't wait to go down there with my family and enjoy the weekend and see if I can see myself down there for the next three or four years."

Following his trip to Auburn, Davis intends to sit down with his family and make a decision. His father would love to see him at Alabama, but Davis says he'll go wherever his heart tells him to. He intends to announce his commitment on National Signing Day at Gordo High School at 9 a.m.

"I'm glad I saved this (visit) for the last one because Auburn has always been high on my list in my mind," he said. "I'm just going to see how the visit goes, pray about everything and make a decision by next week."
