No he wouldn't have. The one thing Carroll has over Saban is that he's a far superior evaluator of talent especially at the QB position. Saban left the Dolphins roster in rotten shape because his drafts were terrible. He would have only succeeded as a pro coach if he went to an organization with a good GM in place to make all the personnel decisions.
