It went from saban would've been a Super Bowl coach had he stayed to saban would have been a Super Bowl coach had he stayed and gotten Brees.
Saban's decision not to sign Brees so it wasn't some unfortunate events that left him with his situation. There's absolutely nothing that saban has done to prove that he would have been sucessful in the NFL.

Saban wanted Brees, the GM nixed the deal.
