How do you get your sports news?

The internet for about 99% of it.

So the Internet just generates news on its own?

I see what you're trying to get at. However, I don't pay a dime for sports news, and if I had to pay for it, I just wouldn't get about 90% of what I currently consume, which isn't a lot.

The journos need the NFL, not the other way around. The NFL existed and was popular with far, far less media exposure (off the field) than they have today. Yes, there may be some intrinsic benefit for the NFL to have player interviews, but it is a lot less important for the NFL than for the journalists who rely on it for a large portion of their writing, which in turn generates them (not the NFL) ad coverage on the internet.
