I am pretty excited about the season. We have several unknowns, but I think our offense we'll be sexy this year.

I can't wait to shove our non-top25 preseason ranking down everyone's throats all season. Hope we make them choke on that insult.

Well we're ranked in 1/2 publications so far.
Its still kinda ridiculous.

We have the pitching staff to win the SEC, but damn do we have absolutely no consistency at the plate. Here's to a home opener that isn't pouring down rain like last year

I think you'll start to see a lot better hitting as the younger guys get older.

Well the primary reason we are not getting ranked in some places IS the pitching staff. Aside from Ross Mitchell not much proven out of what we have coming back. Certainly nothing like we had coming back last year. Trevor Fitts has been decent and Preston Brown was good before getting hurt but there are a lot of talented but unknown commodities on the staff at this point. I would feel a lot better coming into this year if Sexton and Hudson would have looked better last year.

Our home SEC schedule is great.

We have a ton of arms. IMO, that's way more important than having one shutdown guy. Big picture is what I'm preaching. But you're right, we're young, but have a ton of potential. Gonna be a year where I think we progress greatly throughout the season. Can't wait honestly
ETA: An inexperienced pitching staff will benefit from our favorable home schedule as well.

So will the rest of the games be on the SECNetwork + or will we still need hailstate tv?
Posted on 1/20/15 at 2:42 pm to DynastyDawg
36 other games will be on SECNetwork+
SECNetwork+ replaces hailstate tv

We certainly have the chance to be pretty good but its all very iffy now on how some of the young guys come through on the mound especially. We may have more candidates this year than some previous years but too often I've seen guys we expect to be solid starters not be able to get it done. We've just had a lot of trouble under Cohen/Thompson finding 3 reliable SEC starters. Last year we brought RMitchell out of the bullpen to provide one and TFitts did OK as well. Beyond that the starters were pretty weak BUT we had a rock solid bullpen. This year we've GOT to find reliable starters because no way is the bullpen going to be as good with Lindgren and Holder gone.

If I had anyone to trust in the country with my pitching staff it would be Butch Thompson.
