Bracketology has
UK as a 1
Arky as an 8
LSU as a 9
UGA as a 10
SC as a bubble at 11
LINK
There's not a lot of margin for error there. Couple more bad losses for SC and they'd have a hard time fighting their way in. Same for UGA, IMO.
Unfortunately, the SEC is swimming upstream in the perception of the league and competition here. We need to make some noise in the tournament from our lower seeded teams to help start changing that perception.

Not that we're really on the bubble, but:
Texas A&M (RPI #59)
Quality wins (RPI better than 100)
New Mexico (84) - In Puerto Rico
Sam Houston State (96)
Bad losses (RPI worse than 100)
Kansas State (124) - In Kansas City, MO
ZERO road wins
Our best win would be LSU by far if we win today, but that's not happening.

Always wondered why aTm didn't seem to tak basketball more serious being in Texas.

Post-Shelby Metcalf, the A&M basketball program was basically dead. I mean SMU-death penalty dead during the Kermit Davis years.
Tony Barone barely managed one NIT appearance and we won't get into how bad Melvin Watkins was.
The 2003-2004 season is still the benchmark for pure futility...0-17 in conference.
Gillispie didn't just revive the program, he managed to put all of the cremated ashes together in the correct order and breathe life into the assembled flesh.
Mark Turgeon somewhat maintained the recent success and then Billy Kennedy brought A&M back to their historical normal.

Kansas State just did UGA a favor beating Baylor. Our win against them is looking better now.

Please. Bama is no more a bubble team than Wofford. RPI lies sometimes.

That list is from the Jan 5 Bracketology bracket that Lunardi did. He did one on the 15th and he only has UK, Arky & LSU in atm.
Jan 15 Bracketology
UGA in first four out & UF in the next four out.

Is South Carolina even a bubble team at this point?

Ok a SC loss tonight kinda gives them an outside shot at climbing back into discussion

You can put LSU out of the discussion after today.

Got all right but the last four words.
The win over LSU does several things:
-Vaults A&M into #42 in the RPI
-Drops LSU into #48 in the RPI
-Gives A&M its only RPI top 50 win, and on the road no less
-Kansas State's win over Baylor takes that loss out of the "bad loss" category.
