Manziel is a full 2 inches taller than Murray; don't try and tell me that they are the "same" as some sort of rationale for his ranking. His ranking is what it is because he has been dominating the highest level of competition for years and his tape/skill-set is elite, not because someone saw Manziel go in the first round. Rivals ranked McCalebb as a 6.0 4-star out of Prep School and he was like ~150 pounds coming into Auburn. You think his "Pro Draftability" merited that high of a ranking as a twig running-back? All those 150-160 pound RBs running around in the NFL? No chance.

These guys aren't NFL scouts or talent evaluators. While they do try to align their rankings with perceived "Pro potential", you have to realize that a lot of the time they are just trying to make their own best guess. Hence why I said that it isn't as set in stone as you make it out to be, because it isn't.

Not trying to rationalize anything. That is honestly what I believe in Marray's case. And I have not said a word about them being the same. All I did was point out that every recruiting analyst regardless of the company touted him the next Johnny Football for 2 years. That's them saying they're the same not me. Maybe the kid has earned that monocur at the HS level. I don't know. In history though it's branding like that which usually over inflated the skill set or ability of the next whatever. Hell maybe I'm so skeptical to the next whatever not being close to the original that it automatically makes me think the next whatever is rated to high. Anyway you are probably right and if you are then it should not be college potential for only some recruits but not the whole. Back to Chandler Cox not even you, as much as I respect your analysis, can convince me, CC does not have solid 4* potential for any team that uses a FB or HB.
