It will be hard to correct the secondary problems due to who coaches them. I do not think Saban would focus on another position.

Saban is involved but the secondary took a drop after Pruitt left and Kirby took over. Word is Kirby will move back to LBs and we will hire a secondary coach.

Either way, I think the secondary issues are a combination of (1) youth/inexperience (2) talent compared to prior year (3) scheme. A bad combination of those 3 spells disaster for a scheme like ours. We will see if it improves next year. It should, but at this point I'm not confident.

+1

And may I compliment SummerOfGeorge and IronsPuppet for having a logical/constructive discussion. Nice change of pace for the board.

I think they existed when Kirkpatrick and Millner were there, the SEC just hasn't had QBs to exploit it. Look at who Bama has lost to over the last 5 years, mainly to QBs that could throw.

The secondary also took a drop when they started playing smaller CBs.

2011:
Kirkpatrick, 6'3, 192
Menzie, 6'0, 198
Milliner, 6,1, 196

2014:
Jones, 5'10, 194
Jackson, 6'0, 188
Sylve, 5'11, 180
