Rhoades will make decisions on #Mizzou coaches, like baseball coach Tim Jamieson, after his hire. Loftin doesn't want to get involved.

Loftin said he thinks #Mizzou can offer full scholarships for baseball and softball. Believes the resources exist to do it.

Loftin feels MU has resources to address scholarship funding deficiencies in baseball and softball. Also mentions new baseball stadium.
Loftin is the man.

Loftin was a fantastic hire for us. I hope Rhoades is the same.

I really like Loftin. I trust him with the Rhoades hire. I have a feeling they're really going to help get Mizzou athletics over that next hurdle.

Time will tell. I was hearing on PM yesterday people talking about the baseball stadium renovations not coming out even close to the rendering that was submitted. I explained that it sounded like the money may have been yanked and second thoughts due to either a possible new stadium or using the funds elsewhere. Judging by Loftin's comments, it looks like maybe a new stadium could be in the works.
I think your right. Their head is in the right place. I like the focus on baseball. They sit smack dab in the middle of two MLB towns. Why not improve the facilities and scholarships? Mizzou has the potential to become a baseball power house in time if they address these things.
By the way, I got to listen to Rhoades introduction speech and press conference the other day. It has changed a few things in mind about him. I'm liking the direction they are going. I truly believe he was brought here to get us to the next level, I think he can.

Hits with power too. Can't let him beat ya.
I mean .411? He surely can't keep that up.

I agree. The other thing about this season so far is that they're getting timely hits, with guys on. Finding ways to score. Last few years, they'd get meaningless hits with no one on and down by 8. Different story this year so far.
Wonder what Mizzou's on base percentage is this year?

Lost 4-2 to Air Force.
I really don't get TJ. He's walking a razor's edge both on making post season and keeping his job. Every win counts. So what's he do? He starts a reliever. Brings in a guy that is about 12th down the list of available pitchers, followed with a guy about 13th down and we find ourselves giving up 4 runs. Then he brings in one of our quality freshmen who does his job.
In the mean time, he wasted De Oca yesterday, when he could have started today. Oh yeah, he's that other freshman that hasn't given up a run yet this year. Former 2nd round draft pick Rash never sees the mound in the midweek series. He's struggling this year though with a 2.00 ERA I guess is TJ's thinking.

From what I've heard, your correct. He may not retain his job regardless of the seasons outcome. He's been here what, 5 yrs.? Rhoades may decide to put his mark on the program at this point. Especially if they are looking into a new stadium for baseball. That is going to require filling seats. I read the turnout today was like 159. Weather was crappy too, may had something to do with it. But seats will need to get filled for a new stadium. That means winning is paramount.

I think this is TJ's 21st season. We've sucked for the last 5 years.
Interesting fact. In the last 78 years of baseball at Mizzou, we've had exactly 3 head coaches. That has to be a record for stability no matter what sport.

So we have three against South Carolina this weekend, should be a good test for where this team is at right now.
2-1 would be fantastic.
2-1 would be fantastic.

SC goes up 1-0 after the top of the 1st. McClain historically has struggled in the 1st so it will be interesting to see if he can settle in.

1-0 still. Bottom of 2. Mizzou with 1st and 2nd no one out.
Posted on 3/20/15 at 6:31 pm to reedus23
Bloop single loads them up. Still no on out. Trey Harris up.
Posted on 3/20/15 at 6:32 pm to reedus23
Make it 2-1 on a first pitch single scoring 2.
1st and 2nd no one out.
1st and 2nd no one out.

We are horrible at executing. Can't bunt. Hopefully the inability leads to another bloop single.
Posted on 3/20/15 at 7:32 pm to reedus23
looks like a pitchers dual. tied 2 all in the 7th.

Lester goes to third on error! No outs!Common Mizzou! You got this!
Posted on 3/20/15 at 7:39 pm to jafo
Runners on second and third no outs for Mizzou in the 7th.
Posted on 3/20/15 at 7:41 pm to jafo
Bases loaded two outs. Damn, common guys!
Posted on 3/20/15 at 7:43 pm to jafo
YES! Single up the middle. Mizzou ahead 3-2!
