Am I missing something here? What was so controversial about him leading the band?

In '95 we kicked bamas butt from play #1 on after them beating us 9 years in a row (with one tie in there) and Peyton led the band in rocky top after the game. It was the start of our mid-90s to mid 00s dominance over them. It left a bad taste in a lot of BAMA fans mouths that's for sure, but I wouldn't say its controversial.
