The crazy thing is that there was speculation (started by a recruiting analyst IIRC) that Bama didn't have room for Vonn Bell and basically passed on him. But in one of the PC's leading up to the playoff game CNS said we "certainly wanted him in our program" so I guess the rumor was bogus

From my understanding Saban wanted Conner more and wouldn't let Bell commit. Bell then commited to OSU and we got burned by Conner. I felt from the beginning we should have taken Bell instead of chasing Conner

Yep I wondered about that.
My cousin teaches at Bell's school and taught him.
She thought he would go to Bama.
The other day she told me she saw Bell's mom and hugged her and told her she was proud of him. His mom told her she was mad at him for intercepting that pass and making "us" lose.
