I felt this way in the army. I was in a Forward Support Company (ordnance, transpo, quartermaster) and we had about 1/5 women. There were about 3-4 in the company of 200 that were worth a shite. They were stellar, the other 37 were worthless, and the men had to constantly cover for their failures, laziness, etc.
I had 5 bosses in the military (I was an officer), 4 of which were women. All but one had severe leadership failings that were so bad I would not have wanted to follow them into combat.
Where I work now in a civilian company, one of my assistant managers is a first generation indian (dot) woman, and is 100% more hard working and better at her job than the white male aggie I have as the other asst. manager. I gave him about half her work last week and he's already telling me he's overloaded, while she is just plugging along. Oh, she's also 9 months pregnant.
I honestly have a lot more faith in minority women than white/latino ones. All the women I worked with/for/over that I was impressed with were black/indian/asian.
