Apparently BJ is taking his firing hard. He's been with Sumlin since his first stop at A&M (was a GA here) and how this went down knocked the wind out of him. He was offered a role on Beaty's staff at KU and declined. Appears he's quitting coaching.

That sucks, the guy is an awesome recruiter. If there was any time we pull a Bama and give someone a staff job for recruiting I wouldn't mind doing it for him. Good luck to him in the next challenge.

Hopefully if that happens someone other than Sumlin will be hiring the DC.

Everything is relative. When your division rivals have DCs like Muschamp, Chavis and Smart that are all making over a $1 million a year suddenly splitting $1.3 million between two positions is pretty weaksauce.
