He's on the hot seat so much you would think his throne is in Hell. Still employed despite Michigan's best efforts.

I really don't see how you can interpret LSU's negotiation tactics w/ Chavis, and apparent miserliness in searching for his replacement, to be anything other than laying the groundwork for Miles to be replaced in a couple of years.

The only way they could be more clear about it at this point would be to hold a press conference.

Apparently BJ is taking his firing hard. He's been with Sumlin since his first stop at A&M (was a GA here) and how this went down knocked the wind out of him. He was offered a role on Beaty's staff at KU and declined. Appears he's quitting coaching.

For all the hand-wringing around here for the last bit, we had the same record as LSU this year and we've had the same record over the last 3 years - and during that period LSU has had the highest paid staff in the nation.

At some point, you can't just buy the most expensive guy. Les spent 1.3m on Cam. Another 650k on Wilson. And including him 7 of his 10 coaches are offensive. And they put out a putrid product this year. If 3 years from now we go 8-5 again with a 100 level defense, Sumlin best not ask for more money to make a great hire.

Les has 1.3m to rework his staff. That's hardly miserly. He just has money tied up in all the wrong people which is his own damn fault
