2011 can't be used as a comparison; we're using a different method to pick contenders than we did then.

quote:

Texas a and m got overly hyped because they beat a Carolina team week one that turned out to be awful.

We still finished 8-5 with a bowl win. Not great, but not awful either.

quote:

Arkansas even though they struggled to beat them and very well should have lost that game, I feel like arkansas was playing their best ball down the stretch but was still a bottom feeder of the conference

This is a point -towards- SEC superiority, not against.

quote:

LSU should have beat bama as well but would have could have should have. LSU wasn't a good team this either as the back half of the season proved

LSU was a good team with a quality OOC win vs Wisky and wins over A&M and OM.

quote:

Florida was a bad team

Yep.

quote:

Mississippi state was ranked 1 for much of the year but that ranking came from them beating LSU and texas a and m, that proved to be very average wins.

Both teams with winning records.

quote:

Auburn was a decent win for bama although they got skull drug by Georgia

Auburn was definitely overrated this year.

quote:

Tennessee barely made a bowl, good win?!? Meh

Meh.

quote:

Missouri good win anytime you win your side of the division can qualify as a good win

Agreed. Something TCU didn't do.

quote:

West Virginia.... Bama struggled with them for much of the game as well.

A win is a win. WVU beat Baylor, so......

quote:

Ole miss. They lost! TCU beat this team by almost 6 touchdowns.

Agreed, OM definitely sucked it up in the bowl, however they were a 9-3 team (#4/5 in the conference) playing the #2 B12 team (11-1). Let's not compare this as total equals.

quote:

TCU lost to Baylor on the road who just happened to have a case for the playoff as well

A better case. Baylor won their conference.

While I agree Baylor had a case for the playoff I would disagree better case.

Big 12 has them listed as co champs. Yea they won the tie breaker but also lost the wvu.

Remember the whole who had a worst loss argument. TCU had a better body of work. Ooc they beat down Minnesota. Baylor played a texas a and m ooc schedule.

TCU lost to a ranked team on the road, Baylor lost to wvu.

With all that said who knows how the committee decides but it looks as if conference title games get preference. Knowing what we know now big 12 needs to add that game.
