It gets plenty hot and humid in the Northeast. They don't have summers mild enough to compensate for their miserable winters.
Really.
Summers are hotter, longer and more miserable in the S.E. than the N.E. and it's not even close. You also happened to choose one of the cooler climates in the SE vs one of the warmest climates of the NE.
