I don't claim to be knowledgeable, I just saw that our offense was very successful in the vast majority of games that Nuss coached at Alabama.

I admit that he was stubborn sometimes when we should have been pounding the rock, but everyone has their flaws.

I'm not calling him great, I am calling him good.

Wasn't even talking to you. I do, however, stand behind my original statement.

Nuss apologists, in my experience at least...were not bad people or anything, but they obviously did not pay very close attention.

Our talent advantage hid some serious coaching flaws, particularly on the fly offensive adjustments and play calling.

2012 LSU, 2012 Georgia, and the 2014 Sugar Bowls are examples of that.
Alabama should have thrown deep more versus 2012 Texas A&M and passed more versus 2013 Auburn.

All of those teams were Top 10 opponents. It's a pretty big deal to have poor playcalling versus Top 10 teams. Who really cares about the offense looking good versus teams that have lost 3 or more games. When it came to playcalling against the SEC's best, he faltered, and Alabama was fortunate to overcome that a few times.

And even that would be a generous statement. Nussmeir was one of the worst playcallers I've ever seen. Nuss was responsible for losing the 2012 A&M game. My wife has a better feel for the game. He might be ok with McElwein doing most of the work but Nuss was not a good OC.
