What prompted the switch to the navy helmets years ago? The light blue helmets are fantastic, in my opinion.

Tuberville wanted a change IIRC. Kind of like how some of our coaches used the navy blue jerseys more than the red jerseys or the other way around.

The first game I ever attended was UA vs. Ole Miss in 1983. Ole Miss was wearing powder blue helmets that day. I even got my picture made with Johnny Reb and got his autograph.......

The powder blue helmets with red jerseys and grey pants is a great look. I actually liked it when Rev. Freeze sported the powder blue visor.

Tommy Tuberville came to Ole Miss in 1995, and wanted to put his mark on the program by switching to the navy helmets. Ole Miss also never wore blue jerseys during his tenure.

I thought they looked great as well. I was pleasantly surprised. I wish we'd wear them more.
