But why is that? Alabama is losing some all - world talent early also.
this is really the question. why is LSU losing juniors at a higher rate. We recruit from the same pool so its not like LSU recruits families are generally poorer than a bama recruit. We don't have some kind of UGA program where we toss players for minor infractions. we haven't competed for a title since 11 so that could be part of it. We do have good position coaches for the most part so development shouldn't be an issue. Under utilization could be one but once we finally find work horses we use them. We are also selling kids on come here for 3 years. The problem seems to be we aren't recruiting enough to fill holes, and we aren't bringing their replacements up fast enough. We will need to increase processing to make sure we cover any short term holes and we need to trust our young guys more.

Les appears afraid to let the young kids make any mistake. Kids are going to mess up so we might need to let mistakes happen instead of trying to shield from it.

so to sum it up imo. 1. we are selling the NFL dream here, come for three years and leave.
2. Some positions might feel that aren't allowed to shine enough due to bad play from other positions.
3. somewhat of bad luck in what pieces are graduating in what year. For example OBJ and Landry would have been crazy to come back with a young unproven, worse qb than JJ stepping in for mett.
4. perception that we aren't going to compete seriously for the nc, either due to losses from the outside or outdated scheme.
