It's not about that. Kids want to at least be under the allusion that their time at the school will be stable. Most are out of state kids, not born and raised Gamecocks. Maybe if they stayed committed, played for Spurrier for two years, and then fell in love with the school through that process, it wouldn't matter who their next coach was. But as a 17 or 18 year old from NC or FL and the coach says he is leaving.. that is a lot of uncertainty.
