Play Oregon and West Virginia instead of Kent State (#119 ypg) and UNT (#116 ypg), then we'll talk turkey. It is always nice when you can reduce two of your opponents to an average of 100 total yards while the other team plays the third and eleventh best offenses in the country after all the games were played.

Well, the advanced stats that strip out opponent strength (which was ridiculed as being stupid) also think that 2011 Alabama > 2011 LSU defensively, but either way both were great.

I'm not sure what you are claiming the advanced stats do, but stripping anything of opponent strength exacerbates the problem, it doesn't fix it.

That is, if strength is a boon to LSU, which it is, eliminating it from the consideration makes the problem worse, not better.
