at assuming just because someone likes to have fun or go downtown they can't be smart or do research. Whether GT fans like to admit it or not, the hope scholarship has increased the competitiveness of UGA a lot.

But hey, whenever yall get tired of yalls 500 MHz NMR, yall can send samples over to UGA to run on the 900. I'm sure someone would be kind enough to take a break from their weak research to do it.

quote:

The average UGA full professor got a salary of $109,400 in 2013-13, according to the survey, up from $103,100 five years earlier and higher only than full professors at Louisiana State University ($108,900) and Mississippi State ($96,400).

Georgia, the highest-paid full professors teach at Emory University, another private school. Among public schools in Georgia, Georgia Tech full professors are the highest-paid at $142,600. And with an annual salary of $89,700, Tech assistant professors earn more even than Emory assistant profs.

The numbers could spell trouble for UGA in the future.

“One of my greatest concerns is retaining the best faculty at the University of Georgia, and the Great Recession has prevented the state from providing merit raises in recent years,” said Jere Morehead, UGA provost and future university president.
