They did kick out Nebraska after they flipped conferences and maybe A&M got in recently but the other schools go back 30+ years

They kicked Nebraska out before they flipped conferences and Nebraska was worried it might affect them transitioning to become a Big 10 member since that has always been a Big 10 requirement.

And Nebraska even acknowledged they'd been fearing it for years mostly due to the AAU requirements involving research funding and the percentage of faculty in the National Academies.

Yea, aTm was the only recent addition of that list. Obviously tech is as well. And I didn't list those schools earlier meaning to imply that they aren't great academic institutions too. Just that they're also big sports schools. You can have an emphasis on both.
