But in all seriousness, using your criteria for a "factory," schools like Texas, USC, Ohio St, Michigan, Wisconsin, Penn State, Oregon, UNC (more specifically basketball), Florida, aTm, Mizzou, etc. would not be able to be in the AAU. Then others that are pretty big sports schools like Arizona, Kansas, Cal, UCLA, Iowa, and so on would be out too.

I think the lack of a med or dental school has been a big factor for UGA (especially since we didn't have much in the way of engineering) and that's why Adams set in motion the steps to help start the Athens MCG campus with the hopes that UGA will take it over eventually. If I had to guess.

They did kick out Nebraska after they flipped conferences and maybe A&M got in recently but the other schools go back 30+ years
