Some people cared, not plenty. That was the problem. I mean you had what? 30 people at the protest that morning?

The Senate Faculty has proposed a vote of no confidence in UAB President Watts and a support of reinstating football. It is pretty much symbolic, but there is a real schism as to what the future of UAB should be.

Someone in the faculty Senate proposed it, not the faculty Senate. I doubt it will pass

Indeed, key distinctions are vitally important.

Not exactly, it took a majority vote to the Senate Faculty to propose the draft of no confidence. They are now taking it to the other faculty members for input. Again, the issue among faculty is about a lot more than football. The Honors Program really distrusts Watts, the business school hates him and the changes to benefits have been extremely unpopular.
My wife still gets her work emails from UAB, in one she was told no one would be allowed access to the administrative building without their badge visible and then they would have to be buzzed in.
Again, not all about football, but the football thing was the catalyst to larger issues.
