I know some guys who went on to play at the FBS level who swore by the Velocity Sports Performance for their speed training. Others I know say it's a bunch of bullshite. It might be worth it if you think you can shave a couple hundredths off his 40 time.

Other than that, a really solid work ethic goes a long, long way. As previously stated, take the time and spend the money to send him to the football camps that teams put on in the summer time. I earned several scholarship offers when I was in HS through camping, granted those were AA programs but sometimes if coaches can see what you can do in person it will sway them if they're on the fence.

ETA: Also make sure he takes care of his business in the classroom. I played with several kids in HS who were D-I talents but either went D-2 or never went to college because their grades were abysmal, I also saw the opposite with 2 kids who went to West Point and GT because they had okay talent but great grades. If a school is looking at two comparable kids and kid A has a 3.7 GPA and kid B has a 2.2, it's really a no-brainer for most coaches.
