Never seen a Bama fan up North? I knew this was a bogus Aubie or LSU fan posting when I read that.
I mean lets be honest here. I've lived between Cleveland and Columbus (back when I was a student) my entire life and I've seen a few Bama stickers who may have been visitors. Maybe it was Trey with that Bama sticker on. I've seen more LSU, Kentucky, and Tennessee fans up here than any other SEC fanbase.

Some of us are thinking about going down to NOLA (with lube because everyone said we'll need it) since we'll be in Atlanta during Christmas break and we're concerned about Bama fans. I'm sure we'll show up in droves and so will Bama but for the negative reputation and stigma that the elephants get, is the interaction with their fans as bad as most people make it out to be? I'm sure not everyone can be Phyillis (who is actually a nice lady) or in your face yelling so I prefer to hold back judgement on a fanbase based on others actions. I have never even seen a Bama fan up north so should I be worried?

No. We're mostly kidding with you.
You'll find out when you get around a bunch of them (and not us from this site -- which really, you have to take TD as half sports/half entertainment), Bama fans are class all the way. Here in Colorado there are a ton of Buckeye fans. I love talking football with them.
You will be fine if you go to NOLA. Go in numbers though. If you get drunk and pass out all by your lonesome, someone will take advantage of you -- but that has nothing to do with football. The Quarter is a cool place but it attracts lowlifes who have nothing to do with football or even with the local citizenry.
In my view, Louisiana people are great folks just like Alabama folks are great. There are weirdos from every walk of life from every place in this country. The dude who tea-bagged the LSU guy should have gotten 10 years in the Louisiana penal system. Let him see how it feels to get tea-bagged.
Just my 2 cents.

As a Bama fan who moved North and knows quite a few Buckeye fans, I believe I am in a perfect position to answer this question:
Just don't be yourself. Then after you stay in New Orleans for a few days, NOT being someone from Ohio, embrace this newfound humanity. Keep not being yourself. If you decide to return to Ohio (ill advised), perhaps you can bring back a sliver of humanity to that state.
Is NOLA really that much fun? Yes, I know Ohio is boring and flat.... Never been down to NOLA, much less to Louisiana but excited to go down. Won't have tickets but excited to take in the atmosphere.

You almost certainly won't run into this. I am pretty sure of that. People almost always act with class until alcohol and crowds mix.

Bring a camera. It's going to be a white trash festival.

You will love it. One of the great things about the Sugar Bowl is that you don't always need tickets to enjoy it if you're in NOLA.

NOLA is a great town. Just be careful of your surroundings and travel in groups. Big games bring out people not associated with the game at all. Easy pickings for the criminal element in the Quarter.
