What's the difference, State was clearly a better team than Mizzou, why shouldn't they get another shot at the conference championship?
Why is it fair that only division champions can go to the conference championship, but anyone can get to the national championship? That's inconsistant and hypocritical. We should use a committee to pick our conference championship matchups if we want to be consistant.

Solid point. Some of the people in this thread have some strange need to criticize suggestions as if it's personally offensive. We're talking about how thing should be, not how they are.
The inconsistencies in how conference champs are determined is very relevant to the conversation.

No, it isn't. We have a method of determining the two participants for the championship game, just like we do in basketball...but anyone can get into the basketball championship as well. In fact, a half dozen teams may be able to get into the basketball championship.
