I don't know why, but this is one of the few "offseason" topics that I enjoy and post in almost every time it comes up.

IMO, New Orleans is the best city in the South (and arguably in the country) for hosting major sporting events. I have been to a bunch and I absolutely loved the Sugar Bowl (which was before I lived in NOLA).

That being said, Atlanta makes the most sense for the SECCG. Having the event in the same place every years gives it more of a feeling of tradition and history. And Atlanta is fairly centrally located and has a huge airport for the fans who don't want to drive. The SECCG has been there for over twenty years. They are building a new domed stadium. It really is the center of the CFB world at this point, esp w/ the new CFB HOF.

Anywhere in Texas in too out of the way for most of the conference. St. Louis is even worse geographically.

From a location standpoint Birmingham makes sense, but there is no infrastructure. Nashville would actually be pretty sweet if they had a dome. People prefer domes for more corporate events like this. And as I said before I love NOLA, but it has the Sugar Bowl and is less centrally located than Atlanta.
