This spring & summer is gonna be interesting. This will be the 1st year in CMR's 15 where there's prolly gonna be a true QB battle...

Quincy Carter was never gonna be the guy after CMR got here...
Hours after a meeting with new head football coach Mark Richt, Georgia junior quarterback Quincy Carter elected to forego his final season and declare himself eligible for April's NFL draft.

Greene....

DJ Shockley was a no brainer...

JTIII started & Cox hemmed & hawed around but everyone Knew Stafford was the man...

Cox was a placeholder while Murray RS'ed to get healthy...

Murray...

Mason... never an doubt tho some could make a case...

Ramsey/Park/Bauta... If Bobo was here it'd be Bryce, but with a new QB coach, this one could be wide open...

Kind of a battle, dual qb thing is battle-ish.

There was a battle btw Mett and Murray too, but Mett gone so.. anyway that was a little battle-ish too.

started to read that article and got to this part and just closed it
quote:

The 23-year old Carter left despite being guaranteed the starting position by the new coach.

'I told him, 'you'll start out as the No. 1 QB, and I'm going to do everything in my power to help you succeed,' ' Richt said. 'If Quincy came back and he wasn't the starter, that wouldn't have been fair to him.'

If even a quarter of the stories were true, keeping Carter on the field wouldn't have been fair to the team. I'm betting him deciding to leave within a few hours is either a decision he'd already made or the result of some other things that were said in that meeting.

Though that second part I guess makes it sound like he would've entered spring as the starter and then had to keep the position. Not really relevant now but I know it's something people have brought up as to why Mason started all season (which I disagree with, he started because he was our best option) but anyways...
