I guess with Rupp I was just expecting an on-campus palace, but got a downtown almost shopping mall atmosphere outside of it. The inside of it was impressive as hell though, so maybe I'm being unfair. It was also the SEC Tourney in the early 90's so I didn't get the full Kentucky home game experience. Need to go back there for a Kentucky game, though my interest in college basketball isn't near what it used to be.

UK and the fans have been agitating for a new Arena for the past several legislative sessions; something along the lines of the Yum Center in Louisville. Rupp is a great atmosphere and is a good place to see a game, if you are in the lower arena or near the bottom of the upper arena at courtside. If you are in the rafters, then you are paying $50.00 and can't see anything without binoculars.

anything new on the renovation/replacement front? I know UK and the city had a "falling out" over the summer on the costs of the renovation.
