Alabama had a contract to play games at Legion field as recently as 2008... but, the contract was broken before the games were played because of the fact that much of the stadium is structurally unsound... but, yeah, UAB was supposed to fill it up or get shut down.

They were cancelled because they removed an upper deck at LF which caused it's capacity to be significantly lower than BDS.
