I didn't know the rule.Evidently the Officials didn't either.

eta:It was a fast paced game.I don't think the officials influenced the game for either Team.

Look at the replay, what Pereira is missing in when possession was established. It wasn't in the air (as he wrote in his article), it was after both players were on the ground. It just didn't fit his story, so he ignored that fact.
