My honest guess is that they don't like being portrayed as the villain and have taken it out on UAB.

But, I'm sure some of them just mimic what the UA powers that be want, and that is to destroy UAB's program for some reason.

If this was Troy or Jacksonville state you could not care less that they were shutting down football. It's only because in your mind you can use this to flame Bama that you care at all.

UAB won't have any sports other than intramurals by 2020.This will slowly erode all of their programs, which is part of the entire plan.

UAB wants to blame Alabama (and Paul Bryant, Jr. specifically) for its programs problems, but the real culprit is UAB. They complain that the Board of Regents wouldn’t dip into Alabama’s athletic profits and drop $75 million on them to build a 30,000-seat on-campus stadium, and they didn't even know how they were going to pay the utility bills on a stadium. The truth is that Blazer students just wouldn't show up even though Legion Field is within sight of campus.....Good on the Board of Trustees for keeping the University of Alabama system financially strong with this decision.
