I think that might have been his point. Not sure, but if it was, it kinda shows that if people who are usually "in the pockets of UAT" are calling them out, then it's pretty bad

Exactly, some Alabama posters on here just feel the need to defend anything Alabama does. When you look at the pattern of how the UA BoT has treated UAB and UAH, I think most reasonable people would agree the BoT is not a very good steward of its satellites.

If AU fans love UAB football so much, why don't y'all fricking pay for it?

I am not as connected to the City of Birmingham as some, but I haven't heard any complaints from the University, it's professors, the medical school, etc about their treatment by the Board of Trustees (it may exist, if so, that is a serious issue).

But if you are saying this based on the BOT not wanting to piss money down the drain for UAB football then, well, that's ridiculous. The argument could be made that not wasting money that could be used elsewhere at UAB is the very definition of being a GOOD steward. Football at UAB is so far down the totem poll of important things for the BOT to be stewards of and protect that it doesn't even register.

People go to UAB as commuter students, transfer students or for graduate programs/research. None of those options are contusive to a thriving football program. Find me one commuter school across America that has a thriving football program with a solid fanbase and nice facilities. UCF has some of those things, but they have a fickle fanbase that, while bigger than UAB, is still small the majority of the time. MTSU cares nothing about sports. Georgia State is a disaster.
