As far as Bo Pelini, call me crazy, but Iowa State should make a serious run at him (that is if Texas allows them to hire him).

He could be the guy that finally builds a solid foundation for a program that should be the one getting the axe like UAB is.

I'd be pretty surprised if Pelini is coaching anywhere next year. He seems a prime candidate to take a year off. He's had way too much success as a HC to take a coordinator position right off the bat and will wait to see if he's in line for a HC job.

He's a bit different from Muschamp in that regard because I do think someone like ISU should hire him. I'm just not sure he'll want to settle on ISU or a similar gig that would take a chance on him this year.

I don't think that's crazy at all. ISU would be lucky to have him, and a HC job at a school that obviously needs a lot of help might be irresistable to somebody like Pelini.

And that creates another opening for our DC that I'd like, or at least not hate. Paul Rhoads is the same sort of insane that Boom is and has experience as a DC.
