I know, that is why I threw out the disclaimer about rankings and the betting line.
1984 - AU was much better, but missed about 50 field goals. Dye called it the worst coaching performance of his career.
1990 - Stallings pulled off a great coaching job and AU played not to lose. It really ignited the Stallings era. Bama was not a good team in 1990, AU was.
2001 - AU was a bit better, but got blown the frick out by a motivated bama. Most shocking IB in 35 years IMO.
2002 - Exactly opposite of 2001, bama was a lot better, but didn't give a shite at that point.

I hate when people say "throw out the record books" because you are correct. It is a load of crap.
