It is the little things like A) no players ineligible due to grades B) no police headlines C) when a player leaves he assist them in getting to a better fit. These reasons and the fact that he seems to love the players are why I have liked him from the beginning and it hasn't had anything to do with W/Ls.

Bert has said before that being a walk-on at Iowa was so hard because you're on your only chance, have to literally earn everything, have to do everything right and work hard all the time or that chance could be gone, and it directly impacts how he runs his program and fosters relationships with his players.

I really love his "we earn everything" mantra this year, and damn if these kids haven't earned these last two wins.
