Reagan, Bush 41 both took similar unilateral actions.
Obama has deported more than the last 3 or 4 administrations combined.
I think the Catholic Church needs to quit banning birth control in Mexico/Central America. They're just dumping their overpopulation on the U.S. Send all those orphans to the Vatican and let them work it out.

From what I've seen, it's certainly not a radical approach. Republican presidents have tried similar legislation in the past to no effect. The only immigration law the GOP would support is mass deportation (which is not possible) or execution.
