Just stop it Pete. Stats could make boise state look like the greatest program of all time. He was average at best, occasionally.

i liked zow. he was a tough cookie. the team would have been better had the coaches just let him play instead of yanking him around all the time.


as for watts. he was the best qb bama ever had at keeping the ball on 3rd or 4th and long and coming up short, at crunch time.

Not basing it solely on stats...I enjoyed watching him play...he came off the bench late in '01 and led us to 4 straight wins, including an Iron Bowl beat down and a bowl game win...and he was pretty good in his freshman and sophomore years as well...

He had one bad year (2000) and that wasn't all on him. And most of the QB's I mentioned in my post above could also be said to be pretty much average. How many truly stellar QBs have we had at Bama? Average QBs at Bama have done pretty well, and Zow did help us to an SEC championship which was impressive, especially since it was done in the DuBose years...
