Not as surprising as you would think considering their styles. Tre hit the hole and slipped through traffic. CAP looks for holes in a similar fashion to zone blocking RBs and will bounce outside if he doesn't fine one. Being on the perimeter significantly increases the chance of a big run for RB vs DBs.
Also, Tre running up the gut had significant ramifications for AU's offense as it opened up the perimeter run game more compared to CAPs style. If you notice, Nick Marshall runs inside significantly more than he did last year.
Finally, Tre Mason was the king of break through to 15 yards, make a juke that seems successful and just barely get tripped up by the safety.
