I am grateful to have seen those two defenses play ...twice. One day, years from now, a lot of people complaining about Okie State will look back and realize that it was only fitting for two of the greatest defenses in the modern era to face off again.
And for 7 quarters, neither team could score a touchdown. In fact, the way LSU's offense was giving us the ball in the title game, you can make a case that their defense was the one doing the more amazing job...yet Bama's defense wouldn't let them cross the 50 yard line.
Just an amazing collection of talent. It's much easier for Bama fans to see it and appreciate it because of the way things worked out, but anyone selling that LSU 2011 defense short is committing a sin against college football.
