Yea pretty much this. My big concern is that I think it's more than just Richt. I don't think just replacing Richt would actually change much. And that's not me defending Richt.

It's an Administration and culture problem. If anything, I think Richt has been too good of a soldier by bearing the brunt of the criticism that should really be directed at the higher ups. UGA as a University and a program don't want to commit any more than they have to. Meanwhile, Alabama, Auburn, Texas A&M, etc. are all going above and beyond the normal call of commitment to win. Quite frankly, UGA doesn't have the heart or the interest to play that game. They're running a marathon pace as if there's ever going to be a finish line and as if it's ever going to pay off. They would sooner wait for the world to change around us than to proactively match and, god forbid, exceed what others are doing. We are not a trailblazing program. And we are not going to be.

And we are not going to be.

And that's the most disappointing part of it. What's funny is it's almost like they don't realize the money they could bring in with a really good championship season. That or they figure they're fine with the yearly money they bring in anyways.

It's not like they'd suddenly have fans with unrealistic standards that expect championships if we happened to win one

The fact that the athletic dept and administration as a whole don't seem to be as invested is a huge deterring factor for me and a big part of why I just can't donate. I'll give to the academic side and I'll go to the occasional game and I'll always passionately follow the team and pull for them win or lose; but the approach is just disheartening.
