If Mizzou gets to the SECCG they have a better chance against Miss St. than Auburn or Alabama mainly because MSU hasn't been there before. Might not make a difference, however sometimes great teams tighten up if they are first team from that school to reach certain level. Not saying it would happen, however there is no chance it will happen with Alabama or Auburn.

I can agree with this. The 1997 SECCG is a great example of 2 teams who had never been & one was heavily favored. UT should have slaughtered us, but it took late 4th quarter heroics to win.

Mississippi State was the 1998 West Division Champs. Played in Atlanta
