The fact that a rebuilding team

LSU fan play both sides of the coin all the time.

Win the game and there are threads

"Oh our only losses are to #1 and #4 there is no decline"

also win (or lose) and they say

"Rebuilding year!!!!! We cant expect much"

Fact is LSU is a damn good team still and even though yall may not have the best QB your D and running game is top notch. Plus playing in tiger stadium. Just how football is.

Yeah, certainly does say a lot about the two programs

For example what does it say about our programs that our 2nd string beat your #6 team last year?

Ole Miss and Arky always seem to play us well, and win a lot, despite the season either of us are having.

Of course we're good. We're always good. That consistency is what has separated us from the rest of the SEC (sans Alabama) in the last 10 years.

In sports, declines are usually something that happens over a longer period of time than a year. So, of course LSU isn't on a decline. You'd need a lot more evidence to back up that talk than just a few games last year and a few games at the beginning of this year.

However, LSU is still in a rebuilding stage, simply because of how much we have lost to the pros in the last few years. We play a lot of freshmen and sophomores. Maybe the better word is reloading. Either way, this was supposed to be a transition year.

I'm well aware that LSU is still a good team. Like I said, we are every year, which hardly anyone else can say.

I was at the game last year and I was at the game this year. I was way more surprised by what y'all did to us last year than what we did this year. LSU's defense was just not up to par last season, and that was the reason Ole Miss won the game.

these are 2 different things. first, there is no decline. it's a ridiculous notion by non-lsu fans that are hopeful. the same people probably think miles is a buffoon and can't possibly stay in the elite for any length of time. second, lsu is clearly in a rebuilding year. the two are not mutually exclusive. that might be hard to fathom for fans of teams that aren't accustomed to maintaining elite status.
