And rent, gas, food, etc.

Again, you can't hop on down to the Kroger and say "I'd like some food, and I'm going to use my education to pay for it."

You have bought the line if you really believe this.

dorm room = paid by scholarship
food = paid by scholarship
gas = feet, what campus is so large a healthy kid can not walk it?

There are enough jock sniffers in college that no football player need worry about their party invites. Everybody else pays for the keg but they never ask the football player to pay.

So you are saying getting a degree does not greatly increase this ability after college?

And you've bought the line if you believe players live some sort of lavish lifestyle.

I know it does.

It doesn't help right now.

Yeah, because nothing says "people who don't work hard" like SEC football players.

I played during the age of hard work, and there was always a little something, something going on. We received "laundry money" every month at Cal. It wasn't that much, but it allowed everyone to get some stuff. We also got to park cars on campus for certain events. That was a blast. The first time that I did the parking, my buddy and I took handfuls of cash back to the AD's office. The assistant AD in charge of the program said, "I understand that no one wanted to park in your lot and that you couldn't collect any money." We just looked at him. He said, "Well, better luck next time." Then he walked away. We were 2 happy campers.
