It depends on the type of defensive mindset the coordinator has. Some coordinators may argue the exact opposite. If your line can create disruption, it will lead to hurry-ups and off balance throws, which can help the secondary.

That's fine and I concur, but which is more likely in the short-term (and so should be the priority)? Getting 4 in place who can help, or 7?

I say hire a DC whose specialty is the secondary. Recruit like crazy for all 11 positions obviously, but get the DB's on track ASAP.
