okay let me try this again.

Ole Miss obviously ask Lucas film if they could use a star wars character (I thought Ackbar; frankly no fricks are given who). Lucas film denied the request.

What I am asking is if Ole Miss was to use this as a mascot they would obviously want to sale merchandise using the image. When the asked to use this Lucas property did they offer them a cut of merchandise sales/ royalty?

I know the story is extremely old, but was just curious. Specifically about the offer of royalty to use the lucas films property.

Lucas is known for suing the hell out of anyone that uses his stuff. He told Ole Miss no (according to the ESPN commercial anyway) and that was that.

I do not know if we offered him a cut. Not to sure how much support that idea had from our admin. That being said, Lucas would have still said no based on his track record.
